When I talked one day in the library about anatomy for the education of teachers, Guruji asked me who the teacher was and I described that it is Robert Schleip who that time was the trainer for Rolfing (Ida Rolf) and Feldenkrais and also for fascial system. So Guruji said that he knew Moshe Feldenkrais – and then he asked how Mr. Schleip explains the ‘fascial system’. I showed him how in Parshvottanasana the extension starts on the plantar fascia and connects through the fascial system with the head. He was very interested. After a while he said, “that might explain my method.” And this was 25 years. So many things have been developed, so much research work has been done especially also by Robert Schleip. In those years we taught together seminars like the nervous system from 2 perspectives and we are happy to teach again the same subject, however, with 20 years more of development and experience.”

With Dr. Schleip, we invited an old companion and one of the most important fascia researchers worldwide to share his latest findings with us. From 1998 on, Dr. Schleip teaches anatomy and physiology as part of our teacher training and has completely redesigned this topic with his approach of “living anatomy”. Many anatomy teachers have “apprenticed” with him. In all the years up to now we have organized at least one seminar per year on fascia with him.
